Trial Saddles

We try to have trial saddles of every model. This is so you can try before buying without worrying about marking* the saddle and not being able to return it.
You can also invite instructors/your own saddle fitter or advisor to view the saddle at your leisure.
Try the saddle for 7 days - have several rides as it is often not until ride 3 or 4 that the horse starts debating fit. Then order a brand new saddle to break in and mold to you and your horse or it is possible to purchase a demo saddle.

We're happy to send you a saddle on trial as long as you understand and agree to the following policies.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING. IN TAKING A SADDLE ON TRIAL, YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE TRIAL POLICIES.

If we do not have the exact demo saddle size you wish. You can order a saddle $500 deposit and then full payment prior or on delivery. You then have 7 days to determine the fit of the saddle. Please note: This does not apply to customised saddles.

1. Your saddle trial period lasts for one week from receipt of saddle, unless you have made other arrangements with us. Please email with the tracking number of the saddle when/if you ship a saddle back. Only demo saddles can be returned via Australia Post (wrapped as the saddle arrived). New saddles must be returned via courier in a suitable box. If you require more than 7 days - $10 will be charged to your credit card for each additional day..

2. For new saddles you are encouraged to girth up the saddle and ride in it so that you can correctly evaluate the fit. However, the integrity/condition of the flaps must be maintained. An easy technique to protect the flaps: lift the upper flap and slide the leathers onto the stirrup bars so that, when the flap is put down, the leathers are sandwiched between the upper and lower flap. If a saddle is returned with signs of abrasion on the flaps, there will be a restocking fee of 25%.
For demo saddles you can ride in these normally. Fair wear and tear is expected. Any other damage may incur a fee.

3. In some cases, we may accept a saddle back after you have already purchased it. In this case, there will be a restocking fee of 25%. Remember, if the saddle shows signs of wear, we cannot sell it again for full price.

4. If you wish to EXCHANGE a saddle for a different size after you have purchased it, for any reason, you can contact us about this option. An exchange might be possible if you have continued to ride with wrapped leathers and have taken excellent care of the saddle. The restocking fee will apply unless the saddle looks brand new.

IMPORTANT: Remember that you are responsible for making the decision on fit (tree width, seat size). Remember too that although Manely Equine can help with advice, the decision to purchase is yours, and once the purchase is made, the saddle is yours. If you decide at some future date that the saddle's not right for you or your horse, for any reason, understand that you will need to sell it on the open market. A saddle fitter can help you evaluate your saddle and make your decision. Also, it is not uncommon for a saddle to require flocking adjustments--saddles are flocked to fit a "hypothetical horse," and if your horse's topline differs, you may find the saddle does not sit quite as nicely on the horse as you wish. In this case, we suggest that you contact a saddle fitter to determine if a flocking adjustment will improve fit.

There is a postage/delivery charge of $25 per saddle for demo saddles
(return costs are your responsibility)
